My Account

Change your name, username, profile photo and password, and check that your email is verified.

My Account is where you manage your own details: the name and photo your teammates see, your username, your password, and your email verification. These settings are for you only. They don’t change any brand.

To open it, click your profile picture at the bottom of the sidebar and choose My Account. On a phone, tap Profile in the bottom bar. Or go straight to My Account.

Quick start (5 minutes)

  1. Open My Account.
  2. Click Change photo and pick a JPG or PNG of yourself.
  3. Check your Name and Username. Edit them if needed.
  4. Click Save in the Unsaved changes bar at the bottom.
  5. Make sure your email shows Verified. If it shows Verify instead, see Verifying your email.

Changing your photo

  1. Click Change photo next to your name.
  2. Pick a JPG or PNG image from your computer or phone.
  3. The new photo appears straight away, with Profile Picture Uploaded Successfully!

Your new photo replaces the old one, including at the bottom of the sidebar. Without a photo, the first letter of your name is shown.

Example: a square headshot works best, because the photo is shown in a circle.

Changing your name and username

  1. Under Profile, click Name or Username and type the new value.
    • Name: how you appear to teammates, like “Sarah Lewis”.
    • Username: your handle, shown as @sarahlewis. Teammates use it to @mention you in comments. Spaces are removed as you type.
  2. An Unsaved changes bar appears at the bottom of the page.
  3. Click Save. You’ll see Profile Updated Successfully.

Changed your mind? Click Discard in the bar to go back to what was there.

If someone else already uses that username, you’ll see Username already exists. and your old username is kept. Pick a different one.

Changing or setting your password

Under Sign-in, the Password row shows dots if you have a password. If you signed up with Google and never set one, it shows No password set (signed in with Google).

To change your password

  1. Next to Password, click Change.
  2. Type your Current Password.
  3. Type your new password in New Password and again in Confirm New Password.
  4. Check the list under the boxes. Each line turns green when it’s met:
    • Contains a number
    • At least 8 characters
    • Contains a special character (like ! - _ or @)
    • Passwords match
  5. Click Change Password. You’ll see Password changed successfully!

To set a password on a Google account

  1. Next to Password, click Set password.
  2. Type your new password in New Password and Confirm New Password. There’s no current password to enter.
  3. Click Set Password.

From then on you can sign in with either Google or your email and password.

Click Cancel at the bottom of the box to close it without changing anything.

Example: “Studio-Lights7!” ticks every line. “studiolights” only ticks the length line.

Forgot your current password? Sign out and use Forgot password? on the sign-in page. See Resetting Your Password.

Your email

Under Sign-in, the Email row shows the email you sign in with.

  • Verified with a tick means you’re all set.
  • A Verify button means you still need to confirm your email. Most of the app stays locked until you do. See Verifying your email.

You can’t change your email address on this page.

Notification settings

Your notification settings are on the same page, under Notifications. They control which in-app notifications you get. See Notifications.

Tips for the best results

  • Add a real photo. Teammates spot your comments and approvals faster when they see your face instead of a letter.
  • Keep your username simple. Use only letters, numbers and underscores, like “sarah_lewis”. @mentions don’t work for usernames with dots, dashes or other characters.
  • Tell your team before you change your username. People who are used to typing your old username need to use the new one to @mention you.
  • Meet every line of the password checklist. The app checks some of the rules only after you click Change Password. A password that ticks every line is far less likely to be rejected.
  • Save before you leave. Name and username changes aren’t kept until you click Save in the Unsaved changes bar.

Common questions

I changed my name but it went back. You probably left the page before clicking Save. Edit it again and click Save in the Unsaved changes bar.

My new password is rejected. The message under the form says why, for example a wrong Current Password or a password that’s too common. The new password must tick every line in the checklist, and very common passwords or ones close to your name or email are also rejected.

My photo won’t upload. Use a JPG or PNG file. Other formats, like HEIC from an iPhone, can’t be picked here. Save the photo as a JPG first.

How do I change my email address? There’s no option to change your email on the My Account page.

How do I delete my account? There’s no option to delete your account in the app.

Why does the app keep sending me to My Account? Your email isn’t verified yet. Click Verify next to your email and enter the code we send you. See Verifying your email.

Do these settings change my brand? No. My Account is only about you. Brand names, members and plans are in each brand’s settings.
