Discover Feed — Browse Everything Your Sources Publish
Browse posts, articles, web results and Reddit threads from your Discover sources in one feed, filter and search them, open the details, and save or turn the best ones into ideas.
The Feed shows everything your Discover sources publish, in one place, newest first. That includes:
- Posts from the Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn and Facebook accounts you follow.
- Articles from the websites and blogs you watch.
- Results from your web watchlists.
- Posts from your subreddits and Reddit searches.
Use it to see what competitors and industry voices are posting without opening five apps. Save the good ones to your Swipe File, or turn them into ideas of your own.
Open Discover, or click Feed under Discover in the sidebar. The page has three tabs: Signals, Swipe File and Feed.
The Feed only shows content from your active Discover sources. Your own connected channels aren’t included. To choose what Discover watches, see Discover Sources. New content arrives on a schedule, not live. See How Discover Updates.
Quick start (5 minutes)
- Open Discover. The Feed tab shows the last 30 days.
- Click Filters, then set Source Type to Social Media.
- Click a post card. The Post Details panel opens on the right.
- Click the star on a card you like. Type why it works, like “Question hook in the first line”, and click Save to Swipe File.
- Click the lightbulb on a card to turn it into a content idea.
What’s on a post card
Each card shows:
- Who posted it: the account’s initials and @username, the website’s page name, the Reddit post title, or the web result’s title.
- The type: for example the post type, or a page type like Blog.
- When it was posted, like
3d ago. Hover over it to see the exact date and time. - A short preview of the caption, article or post text.
- Likes and comments. For Reddit posts, these are upvotes and comments.
- Engagement rate for social posts, like
4.2%. It’s the same rate Post Details and Reports show: likes, comments and shares divided by the account’s followers (for YouTube, divided by views). - A pillar badge, when Orsa AI has matched the post to one of your content pillars. Not every post gets one.
- A search-term badge on Reddit posts found by one of your Reddit searches. Hover over it to see all the terms that found the post.
- Idea badges for ideas your team already made from this post. Click one to open that idea in a new tab.
Buttons on each card
- The arrow opens the original post or page in a new tab.
- The star saves it to your Swipe File.
- The lightbulb (Create idea from this) starts a new idea from it. It only shows when the item has a link.
Likes, views and comments are a snapshot from Discover’s last update, not live numbers. See How Discover Updates.
Filter the feed
Click Filters to narrow what you see. The number on the button shows how many filters are on. Each active filter also shows as a chip next to the button. Click the x on a chip to remove that filter.
| Filter | What it does |
|---|---|
| Source Type | All Types, Social Media, Reddit, Websites or Web Watchlist. |
| Source | One social account, like @harborcoffee. |
| Channel | One platform, like Instagram. |
| Website | One website. Only shows when Source Type is Websites. |
| Search Term | Reddit posts found by one of your Reddit searches. |
| Date Range | Last 7 Days, Last 30 Days, Last 90 Days, This Month, Last Month or Custom Range. Based on when the content was posted. |
Some things to know:
- The filters you see depend on Source Type. For example, Source and Channel only show for All Types and Social Media.
- Picking a Source or Channel shows social posts only, even with All Types selected.
- The default is Last 30 Days. To see older content, pick Last 90 Days or a Custom Range.
- Click Clear all at the bottom of the Filters menu to reset everything.
Example: A bakery wants to see what one rival posted on Instagram last month. They set Source Type to Social Media, Source to
@sweetcrumbbakeryand Date Range to Last Month.
Your filters are remembered
The Feed remembers your filters, layout and grouping for each brand, in this browser. They’re still set the next time you visit. On another computer or browser, you start with the defaults.
The filters are also added to the page address. Bookmark the page to come back to the same view.
Change the layout and grouping
Click View to change how the Feed looks.
Layout
- List: one card per row with a short preview. Good for scanning quickly.
- Grid: cards side by side with a longer preview.
Group by (Feed tab only)
- No Grouping: one list, newest first.
- By Date: one section per date, like “Monday, October 19”.
- By Day: one section per day of the week, like “Tuesday”.
Each section shows how many posts it has and the average engagement of those posts, like Avg 1.2k engagement. The section with the newest post comes first. Click a section’s header to collapse or expand it, or use Expand All and Collapse All.
Grouping only covers the posts already loaded on the page. Click Load More to add more posts to the groups.
Example: A gym owner groups the last 90 days By Day and compares the averages. Saturday has the highest average engagement, so they move their best posts to the weekend.
Search the feed
The search box at the top of the page (Search posts…) has two modes. It only shows on the Feed tab.
Keyword search
- Type a word or phrase, like
sourdough. - Results update as you type.
Keyword search finds the exact words in social captions and AI descriptions, article titles and summaries, web result titles and snippets, and Reddit titles and post text. It keeps your filters and date range. Click the x in the search box to clear the search.
Smart search
Smart search finds posts by meaning, not exact words.
- Click Smart in the search box. The box changes to “Try ‘me talking about cookies’…”.
- Describe what you’re looking for, like
behind the scenes of baking bread at night. - Press Enter, or click the search icon.
Some things to know about Smart search:
- It only searches social media posts. With Source Type set to Websites, Web Watchlist or Reddit, your words are used as a keyword search instead.
- It looks mainly at what the post’s caption is about.
- It keeps your Source and Channel filters, but ignores the date range.
- It shows one list of the closest matches. There’s no Load More.
- New posts become searchable a while after they arrive. It can take a day or more before a new post shows up in Smart search.
Click Smart again to go back to keyword search.
Example: A florist searches with Smart for
customers unboxing a bouquet. It finds competitor posts captioned “Look at her face when she opened it!” even though they never use the word “unboxing”.
See a post’s details
Click a card to open Post Details on the right. Click the same card again, click the x, or press Esc to close it.
What you see depends on the kind of content:
- All content: the image (when there is one), who posted it and when, and About This Post.
- Social posts: the Caption (with its length), Engagement (likes, comments and engagement rate), Hashtags, Topics, AI Detected Pillars, AI Detected Audiences and Music / Audio when the post has it.
- Website articles: Page Details (the page type, like Blog, the reading time, like 4 min read, Has call to action, and keywords), plus Matched Pillars and Matched Audiences.
- Reddit posts: upvotes and comments, and Found Via Search Terms.
Sections only show when there’s something in them. Pillar and audience tags can take up to a day to appear after the content arrives.
You can save the item to your Swipe File with the star in the panel. To open the original or create an idea, use the buttons on the card.
Save to your Swipe File
Your Swipe File is your team’s collection of saved inspiration.
- Click the star on a card, or in Post Details.
- Type a note on why it’s worth keeping, like “Strong hook, try with our menu”. The note is optional.
- Click Save to Swipe File.
You can save social posts, website articles, web watchlist results and Reddit posts. To manage what you saved, add tags or get an AI summary, see Swipe File.
Turn a post into an idea
- Click the lightbulb (Create idea from this) on a card.
- The Create New Idea window opens with the post’s title filled in. Change it to your own angle.
- Pick a content group and click Create Idea.
The original post is linked to the idea as its inspiration. The card then shows an idea badge, so your team can see an idea already exists. See Ideas Board.
Ask Orsa AI about Discover
You can also ask Orsa AI about Discover, for example “What did our competitors post this week that did well?” or “Show me what we saved to the Swipe File”.
Ideas for using the Feed
A weekly competitor check Once a week, filter to your competitors and skim what they posted.
Example: A dental clinic sets Source Type to Social Media and Date Range to Last 7 Days. It switches to Grid, scans 20 posts in five minutes, and stars two to discuss at Monday’s meeting.
Find the best day to post Group a long date range by day of the week and compare the averages.
Example: A coffee shop picks Last 90 Days, groups By Day, and clicks Load More a few times. Sunday shows the highest average engagement across the cafés it follows.
Research a topic before you write Use Smart search to see how others talk about a subject.
Example: A yoga studio Smart-searches
beginner nervous about first class. It finds six posts from other studios, saves the best one, and makes an idea for a “What to expect at your first class” Reel.
Keep up with industry news Set Source Type to Websites to read only the articles from the blogs you watch.
Example: A marketing agency sets Source Type to Websites each morning and reads new articles from three marketing news sites in one list.
Tips for the best results
Follow active accounts. The Feed is only as good as your sources. Accounts that post often give you more to learn from. See Discover Sources.
Use the date range before you search. Keyword search keeps your date range. If a post you remember doesn’t show up, widen the range to Last 90 Days or a Custom Range.
Describe the idea, not the words, in Smart search. “Owner telling the story of why they started” works better than “founder story”.
Note why you saved something. A note like “Price shown in the first frame” helps your team, and Orsa AI, reuse the idea later.
Compare engagement rate, not likes. A small account with 300 likes can be doing better than a big one with 3,000. Engagement rate takes the account’s size into account.
Common questions
The Feed is empty. Check that you’ve added sources on your brand’s Discover tab and that they’re switched on. A new source fills in at the next scheduled update, usually overnight. Also check your filters. Click Clear all in Filters to reset them.
I see “No posts found”. Nothing matches your filters or search. Try a wider Date Range, clear the search, or click Clear all in Filters.
Why don’t I see my own posts? The Feed only shows your Discover sources. Your own connected channels aren’t included.
I picked an account under Source, and now websites and Reddit are gone. Picking a Source or Channel shows social posts only. Remove that filter to see everything again.
Smart search finds nothing, or misses a post I know exists. Smart search only covers social posts, and new posts can take a day or more to become searchable. Try different words, or switch back to keyword search.
Smart search ignores my date range. That’s expected. Smart search shows the closest matches from any date.
Some website pages don’t appear in the Feed. The Feed only shows pages Discover recognizes as articles or blog posts. Pages like About or Contact aren’t shown. A new article can take a day longer than other content to appear.
My filters were reset. Filters are saved in your browser. A different browser or computer, a private window, or clearing your browser data starts you with the defaults.
Are the like and view counts live? No. They’re from Discover’s last update of that post. See How Discover Updates.
Can teammates see what I filter? No. Filters are only for you, in your browser. What you save to the Swipe File, and the ideas you create, are shared with your team.
