Generating Content Ideas with Orsa AI

Ask Orsa AI for content ideas, see what data it bases them on, how it avoids repeating what you've already done, and how approved ideas land in a content group on your Ideas board.

Orsa AI can come up with content ideas for your brand and file the ones you like on your Ideas board. For anything more than one quick idea, Orsa AI hands the job to its Content Idea Creator specialist. It looks at your own data first, checks the ideas against what you’ve already made, and sends back a ranked list.

Each idea reaches you as a card. Nothing is added to your board until you click Approve.

Ask in the main Orsa AI chat on the Organize page. Click Ask Orsa AI at the bottom right.

Quick start (5 minutes)

  1. Open the Organize page and click Ask Orsa AI.
  2. Type a request with a theme and a time frame, like “Give me ideas for our summer menu launch next month.” Press Enter.
  3. Orsa AI says it’s working on it. A small list above the chat box shows the specialist working.
  4. After a short wait, Orsa AI replies with the ideas, each as a card that says Orsa AI wants to create new content idea.
  5. Click Approve on the ones you want and Cancel on the rest.
  6. Click an approved idea’s title on its card to open it on your Ideas board.

Ask for ideas

You can ask in plain words. What you get depends on how open the request is:

  • Open request, like “What should we post next month?”: usually 6 to 10 ideas, balanced across your pillars.
  • Focused request, like “Ideas for our new oat latte”: usually 4 to 6 ideas, all about that topic.
  • One quick idea, like “Give me one idea for tomorrow”: Orsa AI writes it itself, without the specialist.

If your request is vague, Orsa AI may ask a question first, like which audience or format. See Answering Orsa AI’s Questions.

Mention what matters to you:

  • a product, service, campaign or event,
  • the platform or format, like Instagram Reels,
  • the audience, like first-time customers,
  • the time frame, like the next 2 weeks.

Tag a product, idea or post with @ to point Orsa AI at it. See Mentions and Files.

What Orsa AI bases its ideas on

The Content Idea Creator gathers your brand’s data before it suggests anything:

  • Your Playbook, voice and tone: rules it must follow. An idea that breaks one is dropped.
  • Your strategy, objectives, pillars, sub-pillars and audiences: what your brand needs to say, and to whom.
  • Upcoming dates in the next six weeks: national days that fit your brand, and your Timeline entries.
  • Your top posts: what has worked for you, like the hooks, formats and lengths that did best.
  • Pillar coverage: pillars you haven’t posted about enough lately.
  • Breakout posts in Discover: posts from accounts you track that did much better than usual. See Signals.
  • Your Swipe File: what your team saved as inspiration.
  • Your products, when the request is about something you sell.
  • For focused requests, also your existing content on that topic and recent posts from the accounts you track.

It uses competitors’ posts to spot formats and angles that work in your space, not to copy them.

Every idea names at least one piece of evidence, like a top post or a breakout post. If your brand is new and has little data, Orsa AI says so and leans on your audiences, pillars and the accounts you track instead.

How Orsa AI avoids repeating your content

Before it reports back, the Content Idea Creator runs every idea through a duplicate check. It compares each idea with:

  • your ideas, scripts, designs, documents and marketing emails,
  • your published social posts,
  • posts from accounts you track in Discover,
  • your website pages.

Then:

  • Close to something you’ve already made: the idea is dropped, or turned into a clear follow-up that names the original and how it did.
  • Close only to a competitor’s post: the idea is kept. Orsa AI treats it as a sign the angle works in your space, and says so.
  • No close match: the idea is new for you.

Example: a pizza place asks for ideas. One idea, “How we stretch our dough”, is close to a Reel they posted in March. Orsa AI turns it into “Dough stretching, part 2: the 72-hour version” and notes that the March Reel was one of their best posts.

The duplicate check runs on every idea, whether it comes from the Content Idea Creator or is a single quick idea Orsa AI writes itself.

What each idea includes

The Content Idea Creator ranks its ideas, most promising first. For each one it works out:

  • a working title,
  • the hook, written out word for word in your brand’s voice,
  • the angle,
  • the format, channel and length,
  • why this idea, and why now, with the evidence,
  • the pillar, sub-pillars and objective it serves,
  • the audience,
  • a few talking points to brief a creator from,
  • an effort level: light, medium or heavy.

Orsa AI shows you the ideas in the chat. The ones worth keeping become idea cards. On the card you see the title and a description with the hook, angle, format and evidence.

Ideas only use formats and channels your brand posts on, based on your posting schedules. There are at most 2 ideas tied to a trend and at most 1 tied to a national day.

Approve ideas into a content group

Each idea card says Orsa AI wants to create new content idea and has Approve and Cancel buttons. When several are waiting, use Approve All or Reject All in the bar above the chat box.

When you approve an idea:

  • It’s added to the content group shown on the card, as a Draft idea.
  • If Orsa AI didn’t pick a group, the card shows All Content Ideas.
  • The sub-pillars Orsa AI chose are added to it.
  • The card turns green. Click the idea’s title to open it.

Each card shows the Group the idea will go into and the sub-pillars Orsa AI chose. To use a different group, pick it from the Group list on the card before you approve. Ideas can’t be moved to another group later. You can also tell Orsa AI the group up front, like “Put these in the ‘Summer launch’ group.”

Once you’ve approved or cancelled every idea card, Orsa AI continues on its own and knows which ones you cancelled. If you cancelled some, tell Orsa AI why.

See Approving Orsa AI’s Actions and Content Groups and Fields.

From idea to draft

Once an idea is on your board, Orsa AI can turn it into a draft: a video script, a document, a marketing email or a design.

“Write a 30-second Reel script for the idea @idea ‘Behind the oven’.”

See Drafting Assets and Designs.

Example prompts for a small business

A neighborhood bakery planning a month.

“What should we post on Instagram next month? We want more weekday morning customers, and we’re launching a cardamom bun on the 15th.”

Orsa AI checks the bakery’s top posts, its pillars and the launch date, then suggests ideas like a launch-day Reel and a “first 50 buns” countdown.

A plumber turning questions into posts.

“Give me 5 short video ideas for Facebook answering what homeowners ask us most, like burst pipes and water heaters. Nothing salesy.”

Orsa AI keeps to Facebook, checks the plumber’s existing posts so it doesn’t repeat them, and suggests quick how-to videos with a hook for each.

A yoga studio filling a pillar gap.

“Which of our pillars have we neglected lately? Give me 4 ideas for it, aimed at beginners over 50.”

Orsa AI checks pillar coverage, finds the gap, say Community, and suggests 4 ideas for that pillar, each tagged with the right sub-pillar.

Tips for the best results

  • Set up your brand first. Pillars, audiences, a strategy and a Playbook give Orsa AI much more to work with. See Content Pillars and Strategy and Objectives.
  • Keep your Timeline up to date. Add launches and events so Orsa AI can plan around them. See Timeline.
  • Track a few accounts in Discover. Breakout posts from accounts like yours are strong evidence. See Discover Sources.
  • Save inspiration to your Swipe File. Ideas that echo what your team saved tend to fit your taste.
  • Name the group. Tell Orsa AI which content group to use before you approve.
  • Ask for the evidence. “Why this idea?” gets Orsa AI to explain the data behind it.
  • Cancel and explain. “Too similar to last week” or “we don’t do TikTok” helps Orsa AI suggest better next time. Say “Remember that” to save it to Brand Memory.

Common questions

Orsa AI’s ideas feel generic. Your brand may not have much data yet. Fill in your pillars, audiences and Playbook, connect your channels, and track a few accounts in Discover. Then ask again with a specific theme.

Orsa AI suggested something we’ve already done. The duplicate check compares ideas with your content and posts, but it can miss a match. Ask “Have we posted anything like this before?” so Orsa AI searches your posts and content, and tell Orsa AI which piece it repeats.

My approved idea went into the wrong group. Ideas can’t be moved between groups. Delete it and ask Orsa AI to make it again in the right group. Tell Orsa AI the group name before you approve.

I see “No default content board found for this brand”. Orsa AI didn’t pick a group, and your brand has no All Content Ideas group. Tell Orsa AI which group to use, then approve the new card.

Orsa AI didn’t reply after I approved its ideas. Orsa AI continues once every waiting card is approved or cancelled. Check for another waiting card, or send your next message to carry on.

It’s taking a while. The Content Idea Creator looks through a lot of your data first. Watch the specialist list above the chat box. See Specialists and Task Plans.

Can Orsa AI put the ideas on my calendar? No. Orsa AI can’t schedule or add to your Calendar. To show ideas on the Calendar, give them a date in a group with a date field.

Do ideas from Orsa AI use AI credits? Yes. Orsa AI’s replies use your brand’s AI credits, and Orsa AI needs credits to start the Content Idea Creator. See Credits and Limits.
