Reports Overview
Find your way around Analyze Reports — pick a channel and dates, read the Overview on Average cards and the breakdowns, and use the Posts Table.
Reports shows how one of your social channels is doing over a period you pick: average results per post, how they changed from the period before, which kinds of posts did best, and every post in a table.
Open it from the sidebar: Analyze → Reports, or go straight to Reports. The page is titled Analyze.
From top to bottom, the page has:
- The Upload CSV button, for adding Instagram data from Meta.
- A bar to pick competitors, a saved report, a channel and dates.
- AI Insights.
- Overview on Average.
- Performance by Content Type, by Pillar, by Content Idea and by Audience.
- The Posts Table.
Quick start (5 minutes)
- Open Reports.
- Click Select a Channel and pick a channel, like your Instagram.
- Leave the dates on Last 30 Days, or pick another range.
- Read the Overview on Average cards. Each shows this period, prev: for the period before, and the change.
- Scroll to Performance by Content Type to see whether reels, photos or carousels did best.
- Scroll to the Posts Table and click View Post on your best post.
Example: a coffee shop picks Instagram and Last 30 Days. Engagement Rate shows 3.2%, prev: 2.6%, with a green 23.08%. Reels show 12 posts and Improving.
Pick a channel
Reports shows one channel at a time.
- Click Select a Channel.
- Pick a channel. Each one shows its name, platform, @handle and how many posts Orsa has for it.
To clear it, choose Select Channel at the top of the list. The page then shows No channel selected.
Which channels are listed:
- Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok and YouTube channels on your brand.
- The channel must be Active and have an Account Handle.
- Meta CSV uploads only work for Instagram, so the other platforms always use public data.
To add or fix a channel, see Content Channels and Schedules.
Pick dates and the comparison period
Click the date button (it starts on Last 30 Days) and choose:
| Option | Shows | Compared with |
|---|---|---|
| Last 7 Days | The last 7 days, including today | The same number of days just before |
| Last 30 Days | The last 30 days, including today | The same number of days just before |
| Last 90 Days | The last 90 days, including today | The same number of days just before |
| This Month | The 1st of this month to today | All of last month |
| Last Month | All of last month | The month before it |
| Custom Range | The dates you choose | The same number of days just before |
Custom Range
- Choose Custom Range.
- Set From Date and To Date.
- Click Apply.
A custom range can be up to 90 days. Longer ranges show Date range cannot exceed 90 days.
Posts count by the day they were published. “Today” is your computer’s date, but each day’s boundaries run on UTC time.
Example: on March 15, This Month shows March 1–15 and compares it with all of February.
The page address remembers your channel and dates. Bookmark it to come back to the same view.
Overview on Average
The Overview on Average cards show the average per post in your date range:
- Engagement Rate
- Likes, Comments, Views
- Shares, Saves and Reach, when the data is available
Each card shows:
- The average for this period, in large text.
- prev: the average for the comparison period.
- The change: a green up arrow, a red down arrow, 0% or —.
A Public data only badge means the report has too little Meta CSV data. Reach, and some other cards, are then hidden. Hover over the badge for details.
For how each number is worked out, see How Metrics Are Calculated.
The performance breakdowns
Below the overview, four sections split your posts into groups:
- Performance by Content Type: reels, photos, carousels and so on.
- Performance by Pillar: your brand’s content pillars. Click a pillar to see its sub-pillars.
- Performance by Content Idea: the ideas your posts came from.
- Performance by Audience: your brand’s audiences.
Each row shows the number of posts, prev: posts, a trend label, Engagement Rate, Avg Reach (or Avg Views with public data only), Avg Likes and Total Engagement.
To learn how posts get a pillar, idea or audience, see Performance Breakdowns.
The Posts Table
The Posts Table lists every post in your date range, newest first. That includes Stories and posts from your Meta CSV.

Ideas for using Reports
Monthly check-in. On the first working day of the month, pick Last Month to compare it with the month before.
Example: a salon picks Last Month. Likes are up 18%, but Comments are down 30%. They plan more question-led captions for this month.
Find your best format. Pick Last 90 Days and look at Performance by Content Type.
Example: carousels show 4.1% engagement over 9 posts, photos 2.2% over 20. A boutique tries swapping two photo posts a week for carousels, then checks again next month.
Check one campaign. Use Custom Range for the campaign dates.
Example: a gym sets From Date Jan 2 and To Date Jan 31 for its New Year campaign. It’s compared with the 30 days just before.
Tips for the best results
- Upload a Meta CSV first. Without it, Instagram reports have no Reach, saves or shares. See Upload a Meta CSV Report.
- Use 30 days or longer. With only a few posts, averages swing a lot.
- Check the post count. A big change from 2 posts means less than one from 20.
- Look at the trend and the numbers. A row can say Improving while one number fell.
- Save views you use often. A saved report brings back the same channel and dates in one click.
Common questions
Why don’t I see my TikTok, YouTube, Facebook or LinkedIn channel? The channel must be Active and have an Account Handle. Check it under Content Channels and Schedules.
Why does it say “No channel selected”? No channel is picked. Click Select a Channel and choose one.
Why is my channel empty, or missing recent posts? Posts arrive with the daily update, around 2:00 a.m. UTC. A channel you added today fills in tomorrow. The account must be public. See How Discover Updates.
Can I see all my channels together? Not in Reports. It shows one channel at a time. Brand Pulse shows results across channels.
Can I export or download a report? No. There’s no export. To share results, save the report and use Send Summary, or share the page address with someone on your brand. See Saved Reports and Notes.
Why are Reach, Shares and Saves missing? The report shows Public data only. Upload a Meta CSV that covers your dates and the period before them. See How Metrics Are Calculated.
Why does Custom Range say “Date range cannot exceed 90 days”? Custom ranges are limited to 90 days. Pick a shorter range.
Why did my channel and dates reset? Switching brands resets the channel and dates.
