Answering Orsa AI's Questions and Design Briefs

How to answer Orsa AI's question cards, type your own answer or dismiss them, and fill in the Design brief form, with its formats and limits.

Sometimes Orsa AI needs a decision only you can make, like which platform to write for. Instead of a long list of questions in text, it shows a question card with options to click. For designs, it can show a Design brief form instead.

Question cards appear in the main Orsa AI chat on the Organize page. The Design brief form appears there and in the Orsa AI tab of the Design editor.

A question card isn’t an approval. Answering it doesn’t save anything. For approval cards, see Approving Orsa AI’s Actions.

Quick start (5 minutes)

  1. Ask Orsa AI something open, like “Give me a content idea.”
  2. Orsa AI may reply with a question card, like Which platform should this be for?, with options such as Instagram and TikTok.
  3. Click an option, or type your own in Or type your own answer…
  4. If there are more questions, click Next.
  5. Click Submit. The card turns green and says Answered.
  6. Orsa AI carries on with your answer.

What a question card looks like

Each card can hold 1 to 4 questions. Each question has:

  • A short label in a colored tag, like Audience or Format.
  • The question, like “Who is this post for?”
  • 2 to 4 options to click. Some options have a short line under them that explains what they mean.
  • Or type your own answer…: a box for your own answer. Orsa AI leaves it out on questions where your own answer wouldn’t make sense.

Most questions take one option. Some let you pick more than one. Click an option again to unpick it.

When a card has more than one question, you see one at a time, with Question 1 of 3 at the top. The dots next to it fill in as you answer, and you can click a dot to jump to that question.

Answer a question card

  1. For each question, click an option or type your own answer.
  2. Click Next to go to the next question. Use the back arrow to go back.
  3. On the last question, click Submit. Submit only works once every question has an answer.
  4. The card turns green and says Answered. Orsa AI picks up straight away.

Good to know:

  • Pick or type, not both. Typing your own answer clears the options you picked for that question. Clicking an option clears what you typed.
  • The card keeps your answer. Once answered, each question shows Your answer: with what you picked or typed, and the card says Answered.

Example: a bakery asks “Help me plan a post for our new sourdough.” Orsa AI asks two questions: Format (Reel, Carousel, Single photo) and Goal (Get orders, Build buzz). The owner picks Reel and types “Get people in the shop on Saturday” as the goal, then clicks Submit.

Dismiss a question card

Click Dismiss if you’d rather not answer, for example because you want to explain in your own words.

  • The card turns grey and says Dismissed.
  • Orsa AI doesn’t reply on its own after you dismiss. Send a message to carry on.

Why the chat box is locked

While a question card or a Design brief is waiting, you can’t type in the chat. Above the box you see “Answer or dismiss the question above to keep chatting.”

Answer the card or click Dismiss, and the chat box opens again.

Fill in the Design brief form

When you ask for a design and Orsa AI needs more details, it shows a card labelled Design brief. A short line at the top says what it’s for. Orsa AI fills in what it already knows, and you can change anything.

Field What to enter Limits
What should the slides say? The topic and what each slide should get across, plus tone Required. Generate stays greyed out until you fill it in
Format The size to make the design in Pick from the list below
Slides How many slides 1 to 6
Files to use (optional) Images from your Library to put in the design Images only
Inspiration (optional) Pictures or a design to copy the look and mood from Files or Design, not both

Formats you can pick: Instagram Post (1080x1350), Instagram Story (1080x1920), Facebook Post (1200x630), Facebook Cover (820x312), Twitter Post (1200x675), LinkedIn Post (1200x627), Pinterest Pin (1000x1500), Case Study, Guide and Document A4 (595x842), and Presentation Slide 16:9 (1920x1080).

Files vs. Inspiration. Files you add under Files to use go into the design as images. Inspiration only guides the style and mood. It isn’t copied into the design.

Inspiration: Files or Design. Use the switch next to Inspiration:

  • Files: add one or more images from your Library.
  • Design: click + add and pick one of your brand’s designs. Type in Search designs… to find it. You can pick only one.

Switching between Files and Design clears what you picked for inspiration.

When you’re done:

  1. Click Generate. The card turns green, says Brief submitted and shows a short summary of your brief: the description, format and number of slides.
  2. Orsa AI hands the brief to its Design Generator specialist. This takes a little while.
  3. When the slides are ready, Orsa AI shows a card that says Orsa AI wants to create a design from generated slides, with a preview. The design is only created when you click Approve.

Click Dismiss to skip the form. Then tell Orsa AI what you want in your own words.

See Drafting Assets and Designs.

Example: a flower shop asks “Make a carousel for our Mother’s Day bouquets.” In the brief they type “3 slides: our 3 bouquets with prices, warm and soft, last slide ‘Order by Thursday’”, pick Instagram Post, set Slides to 3, and add three bouquet photos under Files to use.

Questions, briefs and AI credits

Answering a question card and submitting a Design brief both use your brand’s AI credits, because Orsa AI starts working again. Dismissing doesn’t.

When your brand is out of AI credits:

  • The chat shows “You’ve used all your AI credits for this plan. Upgrade your plan or buy an AI Credit Pack to keep chatting.”
  • Submit and Generate don’t go through, and you see “Failed to update message”. The card stays open.

See Credits and Limits and Plans and Billing.

Ideas for using question cards and briefs

Let Orsa AI ask instead of writing a long request.

A yoga studio types “Ideas for January.” Orsa AI asks about audience (New students, Regulars) and goal (Sign-ups, Retention). Two clicks, and the ideas fit.

Use a past design as the look to follow.

A real estate agent asks for a “just sold” post. In the Design brief they pick Design under Inspiration and choose last month’s Just Sold - Oak St design, so the new one matches.

Keep your brand photos in.

A café adds its own latte photos under Files to use, so the design uses them instead of generic images.

Tips for the best results

  • Be specific in “What should the slides say?”. Say what each slide covers, the tone, and the last call to action.
  • Match the slide count to the content. One idea per slide works best, up to 6 slides.
  • Upload photos first. The form picks from your Library. See Uploading Files.
  • Type your own answer when no option fits. It’s often faster than dismissing and explaining.
  • Mention details up front. If your first message already says the platform, audience and number of slides, Orsa AI often skips the questions.

Common questions

I can’t type in the chat. A question card or Design brief is waiting. Answer it or click Dismiss. See Why the chat box is locked.

The Submit button is greyed out. Every question needs an answer. Look at the dots at the top. An empty dot is a question you haven’t answered yet.

The Generate button is greyed out. What should the slides say? is empty. Type what you want the slides to say.

I can’t pick both inspiration files and a design. That’s expected. Pick Files or Design under Inspiration.

I can’t add more than 6 slides. 6 is the most for one design. For more, ask for a second design.

Orsa AI didn’t reply after I dismissed the question. That’s expected. Send a message to carry on.

I clicked Submit and saw “Failed to update message”. The most common cause is that your brand is out of AI credits. See Questions, briefs and AI credits.

Can I change my answer after submitting? No. Send a new message, like “Actually, make it for TikTok instead.”

Can a teammate answer my question cards? No. Your Orsa AI chats are private to you. See Conversations and History.
